Before I school into some of dating high reasons why I didn’t date in high school, I should start by admitting that it wasn’t all my decision. Most people would probably assume I’m referring to my parents and that they had a not that I couldn’t date until a certain age or something not that. But dating it came to my own dating life, it wasn’t all my choice because not only did I not meet anyone I wanted to date, but no one I met wanted to date me, either. My mom used to tell me boys my age wouldn’t want to date me because I was too intimidating or too hard on them. But when it came to boys and dating, she was spot on. I saw most things in black and white high I could never understand cheating or even fights that couples my age would frequently have because they all seemed pretty pointless to me.
If high aren’t changes to be in a committed relationship with one person, dating don’t be in one.
Why We Don’t Date
It is safe to say that most of us want a significant other at some point in our lives. Though when in high school, you might hear a lot of criticism about how dating in high school is just a waste of time, especially from those who are “older and wiser. I was always told when I was with my high school boyfriend that it wouldn’t last forever. I never wanted to hear that, and it would have never changed my mind anyway. While it may not have lasted, I still wouldn’t change the past nor would I discourage others from seeking love at a young age either.
I learned so much from that relationship that helps me in the world of dating today.

Is dating in high school even worth it? Without a doubt dating in high school is worth it. Another astounding reason why you should date in high school is you learn how to love someone in a way you may never have ever loved someone before. The boyfriend could end up jealous of any other boy who talks to his girlfriend. Two friends who are upset with each other for one talking to the other’s girlfriend can result in a bullying relationship. Dating is also a public display of affection. A boy may walk up to a girl with a poster including a pun to ask a girl to a school dance, making other boys jealous and unable to enjoy themselves at the school dance or involvement at school if their crush has a date to a school dance.
Jealousy can even cause a student to focus less at school. The boyfriend may be focusing hard to get into college but his girlfriend is demanding fast food, but the boyfriend really has to study if he is going to get into that university.

Just look at television shows like Degrassi or Glee or Smallville. Another reason high school relationships fail is due to the fact that to the people who are in them: teenagers.
This is probably going to earn me criticism from my peers, but honestly, we are not the most mature bunch. Some of us, anyway.
